2005 Summit

More than 400 concerned citizens
showed up to discuss the
planned
growth of the county.
2006 SWOT Analysis

Summit volunteers put their time and talent together to study
and create an analysis of the area¹s strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats.
2007 Summit

Four initiatives identified and undertaken by the committee were
reported on to the community at a second large gathering.

A Special Session of the Economic Development Summit centered on
³Building A 21st Century Economy in
Northeastern Pennsylvania² was held at the Scranton Hilton Hotel
from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. |

Neighborhood Pride Initiative: Chaired by Judge Michael
Barasse this subcommitte has: joined forces with
the Lackawanna County Community Service Group to start a
clean-up campaign in Scranton, particularly in the
West and South sections of the city and the city¹s
gateways; garnered the assistance of the Department of
Public Works, PennDOT, local railroads and the
University of Scranton with manpower, equipment and
other
support: contacted Mayors and Borough Managers from
Dunmore, Carbondale, Moosic and Old Forge regarding
inclusion in the project.
