What It Is What's Been Done What's Next What You Can Do     2005 Summit More than 400 concerned citizens showed up to discuss the planned growth of the county. 2006 SWOT Analysis Summit volunteers put their time and talent together to study and create an analysis of the area¹s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. 2007 Summit Four initiatives identified and undertaken by the committee were reported on to the community at a second large gathering. Initiatives included: Health Care Neighborhood Pride Local Purchasing Education American Assembly September 24, 2008. A Special Session of the Economic Development Summit centered on ³Building A 21st Century Economy in Northeastern Pennsylvania² was held at the Scranton Hilton Hotel from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Local Purchasing Initiative: Chaired by sanofi pasteur¹s Ken Paulino, this subcommittee has been instrumental in: collaborating with the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce to develop an automated network for purchasing goods and services locally/regionally; attracting the OED in Luzerne County and the City of Wilkes-Barre in joining the efforts to develop such a network; working with large Lackawanna County employers such as hospitals and academic institutions to teach local businesses how to do business with them.                 Home  |  What It Is   |  What's Been Done   |  What's Next  |  What Can You Do   |  Contact Us Copyright 2008 Economic Development Summit
